                  Help FAQ
_________________________________________________________________

"Does this play mpeg videos, as well as avi videos?"

Yes. You can select avi and mpg videos to be played at
random intervals. When selecting videos under settings,
a selection arrow will allow you to select *.mpg or *.avi
as you video choices.
_________________________________________________________________

"Does the sound play on the videos?"

Yes. If the video contains sound, it will also play.
_________________________________________________________________

"Will this run on Windows NT?"

This should run fine on Windows NT, however it has not been
tested.
_________________________________________________________________

"How does the screensaver stop?"

The screensaver stops when you click your mouse, or press
any key.
_________________________________________________________________

"Can I play midi or wav files?"

Yes. You can select a midi or wav file for playing, however
if the mpg or avi's contain sound, you will get overlapping
sounds. Most of the time, you probably won't want to use
the midi or wav's unless the mpg/avi's are silent.
_________________________________________________________________

"Does this include password protection?"

No. The password option is not included, as this is a
screensaver only.

"I am getting resource errors. Why is this?"

This screensaver uses a large number of resources, as does any
application that continually displays multimedia videos and
sound. If you get a resource error, you should try changing
your monitor display to 256 color to consume less resources.
(This is done under control panel, display, settings). 256
color will not give you as good an image, but should consume
less resources. You may also want to turn off the midi or wav
sound playing to also help use less resources. Other things
you can do is make sure you reboot your machine at least once
a day (to reclaim lost resources), or visit the Microsoft
website to download any free patches that your system may need.
_________________________________________________________________

"What does Repeat Sound do?"

This is used only if you enter a midi/wav sound file. It will
repeat the sound file if it is on, else the sound file will only
play once.
_________________________________________________________________

"Can I distribute this to my friends since it is free?"

Yes. You can distribute it.
_________________________________________________________________

"Can I distribute this on cdrom?"

You cannot directly sell the Avi/Mpg Freeware Screensaver, however
you may distribute this on cdrom. If this is distributed on cdrom,
you must send an email to softdd@aol.com, and describe what/where
you are distributing. This software must not be modified in any
way.

"How come the pictures are moving too fast or they are distorted?"

If your videos are distorted, you may want to display the picture smaller
as sometimes stretching full screen forces the video to lose quality.
The speed is determined based upon how it was recorded originally, and
has nothing to do with this screensaver.

"How do I uninstall"

If you wish to uninstall, simply delete AviMpg.scr and aviscrn2.ini
which are in your windows directory.
