Title: Tobias Gondrom's Statement about possible IPR claimed in draft-ietf-ltans-ers-02.txt and draft-ietf-ltans-reqs-04.txt belonging to Surety
Date: 31 July 2005
From: Tobias Gondrom <tgondrom@opentext.com>

Hello,

According to RFC3979 section 6.1.3 I hereby want to inform the IETF of IPR of the company Surety.
The information has been submitted to me by Denis Pinkas who is AFAIK not in relationship with the IPR holder.

Although I personally explicitely DO NOT think that the works of the WG LTANS are in any infringement with
the two patents listed below, I want to stay fully conform to the procedures of the IETF and thereby inform you
as recommended ("encouraged") by RFC3979.

Denis informed me about the following two patents:

Method of providing digital signatures.
U.S. patent 4,309,569, issued January 5, 1982.

And

Digital document timestamping with catenate certificate
U.S. Patent No. 5,136,646, issued August 4, 1992.

The drafts to which these patents might theoretically relate are:
draft-ietf-ltans-ers-02.txt
draft-ietf-ltans-reqs-04.txt

Best regards, Tobias
